The Steele Creek Bridge Replacement project that was funded, in part, by a Legacy Fund Grant in 2021 is now complete thanks to the hard work of volunteers at the Tetrahedron Outdoor Club.
Grant amount: $12,000
The following is an excerpt from the completion report:
The creek crossing was extremely treacherous at times, with either fast flowing waters or steep snowbanks above the riverbed...
The new bridge makes a significant improvement in convenience and safety for club members
and all users of the park by creating a safe crossing over the creek.
It's wider than the old one and has cable safety railings. It's also over a metre higher than
the old one and made from steel I-beams, which should prevent it from being damaged in
another washout.
